Report a Safety Issue
To report a near miss or dangerous location use the Northern Virginia Families for Safe Streets(NoVA FSS) Near Miss / Dangerous Location Survey to file a report.
The information you share will be analyzed and periodically shared with local municipalities and transportation organizations to help identify locations that need road safety improvements but are not identified by law enforcement agency crash data. When appropriate, we may also use this information to support advocacy efforts with policymakers to advance street safety initiatives.

City of Alexandria
Use the City’s Alex311 system: https://www.alexandriava.gov/Alex311
You can report issues online, via mobile app, or by phone at 311 or 703-746-4311.
For urgent issues, like downed trees or flooding, call 703-746-4444.
Arlington County
To report a street issue in Arlington, Virginia, you can use the Arlington County’s online “Request Service/Report-A-Problem” tool. This tool allows you to report issues like potholes, blocked streets, sidewalk problems, and more.
You can also report safety concerns through the same tool. For issues related to traffic signals or streetlights, you can use the same online service request tool or contact Arlington County directly.
Fairfax County
You can report road problems, including safety concerns, to the myVDOT website. You can report issues with signs, signals, sidewalks, or pedestrian/cycle paths.
